Breaking: Bamidele, Ihonvbere Emerge Senate, Reps Majority Leaders
The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, on Tuesday announced Opeyemi Bamidele from Ekiti State as the Majority Leader of the Tenth Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Akpabio also announced Senator David Umahi of Ebonyi State as the Deputy Majority Leader.
Other leadership positions announced by the Senate President are Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume as the Senate Majority Whip, while Senator Lola Ashiru is the Deputy Majority Whip.
For the minority positions, Simon Nwadkon representing Plateau North Senatorial District emerged as Senate minority leader, Oyewumi Olalere from Osun State was picked as the Senate Deputy minority leader.
Darlington Nwokocha from Abia State was announced as Senate minority whip, just as Rufai Hanga from Kano State became the Senate Deputy minority whip.
Meanwhile, the speaker of the house of representatives, Tajudeen Abbass has announced Julius Ihonvbere as the Majority Leader, and Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims, Deputy majority leader of the house.
The Speaker also announced Usman Bello Kumo as Chief whip, while Adewumi Onanuga emerged as the Deputy whip
For the Minority positions in the house of representatives, Kingsley Chinda was named the Minority leader, while Aliyu Sani Madaki was the Deputy minority leader.
Others are Ali Isa who was announced as the Minority whip, and George Ozodinobi, the Deputy minority whip.
