Just-In: Military Officers Storm Ikeja Electricity HQ Over Power Disconnection {Video}

Military personnel staged a protest by storming the headquarters of the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) to express their outrage over a recent power disconnection affecting them.
According to eyewitness accounts, the uniformed officers, fully clad in military attire, descended upon the premises located opposite MITV in Ikeja, Lagos, early in the morning at approximately 7:40 a.m. on a Thursday.
It was alleged that during the commotion, several staff members experienced physical altercations at the hands of the military personnel.
The root of the unrest appeared to be connected to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) base situated in Lagos, which had been cut off from its electricity supply by IKEDC. This disconnection was reportedly due to unpaid bills, leaving the base in the dark.
Insiders disclosed that an established agreement obligated the Air Force to disburse N60 million monthly to IKEDC in return for a guaranteed supply of 10 to 12 hours of electricity daily. Despite these financial commitments, the base allegedly continued to endure persistent outages, leading to growing dissatisfaction.
Witnesses also reported that a female military officer was at the helm of the operation, and in a show of defiance, the military personnel steadfastly refused to vacate the premises, even when law enforcement authorities intervened.
