Adeyemi Explains How PFIPC Was Included in 2026 Budget
Adeniyi Adeyemi has explained how the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) was allegedly included in Nigeria’s 2026 Appropriation Act, insisting that the budgetary provision followed official administrative processes and was not inserted unlawfully.
Speaking amid ongoing investigations into the PFIPC controversy, Adeyemi maintained that the council’s appearance in the 2026 budget was neither accidental nor fraudulent. He claimed the inclusion was based on documents and approvals processed through relevant government channels, adding that he possesses evidence to support his claims. His remarks come as anti-corruption and law enforcement agencies continue probing allegations surrounding the alleged establishment and operations of the PFIPC.
The Federal Government has consistently maintained that the PFIPC is not a legally established agency and has distanced itself from the council. Authorities have also initiated criminal proceedings over allegations of forgery, impersonation and related offences linked to the controversial body, while investigations remain ongoing.
Adeyemi, however, insisted that he acted within the confines of the law and expressed readiness to cooperate with investigators. He called for a thorough and transparent investigation, saying the facts surrounding the council’s activities and its inclusion in the national budget would eventually be made public.
