Abiola Laid Down His Life For Democracy We Are Enjoying-Ogun Speaker
The speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo has said that the nation has benefitted from the sacrifice of late Moshood Kashimawo Abiola, MKO.
Oluomo also noted that Abiola laid down his life for the democracy Nigerians are enjoying now.
He described him as the matyr of Nigeria Democracy, saying that his history can never be forgotten.
Oluomo said this in an interview with newsmen while comemorating june 12 on Friday
According to him, for us to have the freedom to exercise your franchise alone is enough for us on the matter of june 12, that anybody can now decide who to vote for without any intimidation.
He said, ”Let me start by pressing the memory of the matyr of Nigeria democracy, MKO Abiola who laid his life for democracy that we are now enjoying, the Nation benefitted from the sacrifice of the man, Abiola and is better for us. Know that the worst form of democracy is better than the best system used during the millitary regime.
”’For us to have the freedom to exercise our franchise alone is enough for us on the matter of june 12, that anybody can now decide for himself or herself.
”Forget about the myopic that they rig this election, they rig that election, you can only rig where you are popular and It is normal but the fact that you are able to exercise your franchise is a priviledge and enough to celeberate today and we should also know that democracy grows by time.
