Ajala Ganiyu Olawale Gets Strategic Lagos APC Assignment, Ayo Mojoyin Applauds Appointment

The Chief Executive Officer of The City Pulse, Ayo Mojoyin, has congratulated Barr. Ajala Ganiyu Olawale (A.G.O.) following his appointment as Secretary of the Directorate of Contact and Mobilisation of the Lagos State APC Campaign Council.

In the congratulatory message, Mojoyin described the appointment as recognition of Ajala’s dedication, political experience and commitment to party organisation and public service.

The new assignment comes as the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally activated its campaign structure ahead of the 2027 elections. The party recently inaugurated a campaign council comprising more than 1,200 members, with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as Chairman, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as Deputy Chairman, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro as Director-General and Rasaq Ajala as Deputy Director-General.

Ajala’s new responsibility places him within the Contact and Mobilisation Directorate, one of the structures through which the campaign council is expected to coordinate engagement with party members, stakeholders and grassroots structures across Lagos.

Ajala Ganiyu Olawale, popularly known as A.G.O., is a lawyer and political organiser whose political activities date back to the early 1990s.

A published profile on his career states that he participated in the Hope ’93 presidential campaign and subsequently held political positions in different organisations before becoming involved with the Action Congress and later the APC. His reported political experience includes service as a Financial Secretary and Legal Adviser at local party levels, before becoming an APC Organising Secretary in 2022.

His professional background also cuts across law, public administration, consultancy and public service. He holds degrees in political/public administration and law and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2017. He subsequently obtained an LL.M and is reported to be pursuing doctoral studies in Constitutional Law.

Beyond party politics, Ajala has held public-service positions, including Chairman of the Revenue Committee, Ojodu LCDA, External Solicitor on Revenue Recovery for Ikeja Local Government and Special Adviser on Youth and Sports Development during the administration of Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke at Ojodu LCDA. He also served as a Senior Legislative Aide to former House of Representatives Speaker, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.

His political activities have continued to centre strongly around the Ikeja/Ojodu political axis. Earlier in 2026, he publicly declared his interest in representing Ikeja Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly and subsequently engaged political stakeholders across the constituency.

Ajala has also been involved in mobilisation activities linked to the 2027 political cycle. In May 2026, an A.G.O.-led movement organised an endorsement convergence in Ikeja involving party leaders and stakeholders in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Congratulating Ajala, Ayo Mojoyin, through the Media Directorate Asiwaju Mobilization Group {AMG) , said the new responsibility reflects the confidence placed in his capacity and experience.

The message from Mojoyin, who is also the CEO of The City Pulse, wished Ajala success as he takes on the assignment and expressed the expectation that his experience in political organisation, stakeholder engagement and grassroots activities would be brought to bear on his new responsibility.

The congratulatory message concluded with the words: “Greater responsibilities. Bigger impact. A stronger Lagos.”

For Ajala, the new assignment adds another chapter to a political career spanning several decades, placing him within the campaign machinery currently being assembled by the Lagos APC as the party prepares for the 2027 electoral cycle.
