Full List of 48 Properties Worth N212bn Finally Forfeited by Court Linked to Ex-AGF Abubakar Malami
The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the final forfeiture of 48 properties valued at about N212 billion linked to former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN).
Justice Joyce Abdulmalik delivered the judgment after granting the final forfeiture application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The court dismissed objections raised by Malami, members of his family and several companies claiming ownership of the assets, ruling that their arguments lacked merit.
In her judgment, the judge held that the central issue before the court was not ownership of the properties but whether the funds used to acquire them were legitimately obtained.
The forfeited assets are spread across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kebbi, Kano and Kaduna states. They include luxury hotels, residential estates, duplexes, commercial plazas, warehouses, educational institutions, factories, shopping complexes and other high-value investments.
The ruling follows an earlier interim forfeiture order secured by the EFCC, with the court now directing that 48 of the 57 identified assets be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government.
