Family members, friends, and well-wishers from far and near converged on Ondo to celebrate a life well spent and to give glory to God for the home-calling of one of the revered matriarchs of the Akinfe family.
The Glorious Exit Service, held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Olorunsola, Ondo, attracted dignitaries from all walks of life who came to pay their last respects to the departed matriarch. Following the interment, guests were lavishly entertained at Amuludun Street, Yaba, Ondo State.
The late Matriarch Morenikeji Mercy Akinfe is survived by children, grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, all of whom have continued to uphold the values of love, faith, and unity that she exemplified throughout her lifetime.
Speaking on behalf of the family, one of her grandchildren, Lace Superior Elder Sister Mojirade Ariyo (Mama Precious), paid an emotional tribute to her beloved grandmother.
«”I actually thought she was my mother until much later in my youthful years when I was told that ‘Maami,’ as we fondly called her, was in fact my grandmother. She was exceptionally loving and caring. I am already missing her and will continue to do so forever. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.”»
The burial ceremony was a fitting celebration of a remarkable life dedicated to family, faith, and humanity.
