Sunday Dare Admits Error In List Of Tinubu’s Appointments, Withdraws List

The Office of the Presidency has admitted to mistakes in the list previously issued, which was claimed to contain details of appointments made by President Bola Tinubu since he took office in 2023.
On Wednesday night, Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, initially shared this list. The release came in response to Senator Ali Ndume’s recent criticism, where Ndume accused Tinubu of neglecting the adherence to federal character principles in his appointments.
In defending the President, Dare asserted through a statement on his social media platform 𝕏 that President Tinubu is a leader who transcends ethnic divides. Dare argued that a comprehensive examination of key federal appointments across significant government entities demonstrates that Tinubu is making the right moves in terms of inclusivity and representation.
Highlighting the distribution of appointments, Dare noted that out of the 134 federal appointments listed, 71 were allocated to the Northern region, while 63 were designated for the Southern region. Yet, in a revised statement on Thursday, Dare acknowledged inaccuracies in the initial list and pledged to deliver a correct version soon.
“We have identified errors in the posted appointment list. We apologize and will provide a corrected list shortly. Thank you,” he communicated.
