Naira, Fuel Scarcity : Youth Inclusive Initiative sues for calm as efforts are being made to ease the tension


Less than Nine days to the general elections, a National Political Support group for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu under the aegis of Youth Inclusive Initiative, YII Ogun State has empathises with residents of the State and the Nation at large on the challenges being faced on account of the lingering fuel shortage and scarcity of the new Naira Notes.
Speaking on behalf of the group in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital, the State Co-ordinator, Abdullahi Akinpelu called for more supply of the new naira notes to ease things for the masses and stabilise the currency swap policy.
He appealed to Nigerians to exercise patience with the Federal Government and the Central Bank of Nigeria over the challenges associated with the circulation of the new banknotes, just as it appealed to the banking sector regulator to expedite action with its circulation.
“As Nigerians grapple with unprecedented hardship occassioned by the cash swap policy of the CBN and scarcity of fuel, we as a group wants to appeals to all residents to remain calm and go about their daily activities peacefully as concerted efforts are being made to redress the situation”
We also want to appeal to all our traditional institutions, religious leaders and community leaders to help prevail on the citizens, especially our youths not to allow themselves to be used to foment any trouble on account of the current situation”, he said.
While calling on the apex bank to expedite actions on circulation of new currencies as well as the NNPC to make fuel available to Nigerians, Akinpelu said it is important for Nigerians not to act the script of the Democratic saboteurs whose only intentions was to use the current challenges to disrupt the Nations democracy.
He further called for more support from all Nigerians for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to emerge the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the February 25th presidential elections as well as all other APC candidates.
“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the most suitable candidate that can restore hope, confidence and prosperity in the country because he “Tinubu” is not due to only his political sagacity, but also his organisational depth, humanist consideration, and futuristic contemplations, Nigeria needs a Man with his depth of knowledge to get things right”, He posited.
He equally canvassed support for the re-election bid the governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun noting that his building our future together agenda has put the State on the path of sustainable growth in the last couple of years, hence a good turn deserves another.
