2023 : Tola Banjo ready to change the narratives, meet with APC stakeholders in Ogun East.
A former Deputy speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly representing ijebu-Ode state constituency between year 2011 to 2015, Hon. Tola Banjo has declared his interest to represent people of the ijebu-Ode, Odogbolu and Ijebu North East federal constituency at the federal house of representatives in the 2023 general elections under the platform of the rulling All Progressives Congress, APC.
The Ogun ex-lawmaker made his declaration when he hosted leaders, stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress drawn from the three local government areas under the “GIANT GROUP” forum.
In their separate speeches, leaders and members of the giant group described Hon. Tola Banjo as an unusual politician who did not loose sight of the challenges confronting members his constituents beyond election periods and one who can be seen and related with as often as possible, creating atmospheres of cohesion, between he and those he represents in other to give them senses of constant belonging on how they are represented and kept abreast of developments across the state.
They attested to the fact that Hon Tola Banjo is a man of his words and ready to support his ambitions for continued quality representation which has in the past, brought to them, dividends of democracy.
Addressing the gathering, the ex-lawmaker noted that APC in Ogun remains a party to beat encouraged members not to rest on their oars but always meet to delibrate time to time to ensure adequate information flow among members.
While appreciating them for their continued support over the years, he promised not to distance himself from his people, rather he would continue to use his resources to alleviate their problems.
He noted that , as “Omoluabi” that he is, he has no intentions of making promises he won’t be able to keep, which is why he promised to guard the mandate if given to him jealously in the federal house of representatives.
” APC is our party, Tola Banjo is your son and he is your project, let’s do it together for a better and secured future”
He therefore called on party stakeholders not to be hostile to opposition noting that they all belong to the same political family irrespective of affiliations.
“I promise a quality representative and intervention in the constituency, i don’t want us to see this as a personal project but a collective decision,”
“Other contenders for the seat will come and test our unity of purpose, they will meet with leaders in our LGAs but is it possible to speak with one voice,” he said.
Hon Banjo also encouraged the people to get themselves registered as mandated by electoral laws, get their PVCs readily available as the only way to ensure their mandate is secured and adequately protected.
