Wike Orders Demolition of Suspected Criminal Hideout in Abuja
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has ordered the demolition of a building identified as a suspected criminal hideout as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security and combat criminal activities across the nation’s capital.
The directive followed reports linking the property to alleged criminal operations, prompting the FCT Administration to take decisive action to safeguard residents and maintain law and order. According to officials, the demolition forms part of a broader strategy to dismantle locations allegedly used for kidnapping, armed robbery and other criminal activities within the Federal Capital Territory.
Wike reiterated the FCT Administration’s commitment to ensuring that Abuja remains safe for residents, businesses and visitors. He warned that any property found to be harbouring criminals or being used for illegal activities would face appropriate legal action, including demolition where necessary and in accordance with relevant laws.
