UK based Entrepreneur, Wasiu Lawal Pledges N1million Support For Ogun Women Run
ABEOKUTA – An Egba-born UK based Entrepreneur, Wasiu Lawal has commended organizers of the just concluded Ogun Women 5KM run, pledging to support initiatives targeted at empowering women.
Wasper as fondly called, was part of the sponsors of the Ogun Women Run organized by Brussels Sports Management.
Wasper while addressing journalists at the finished line of the women’s race at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, said initiatives that bring everyone together should be encouraged and supported.
According to him, the race has given women and young female athletes respite and provided a platform for them to showcase their talents.
He, however, vowed continuous support for subsequent editions of the Ogun Women Run and donated the sum of N1million.
“What they are doing is a very good one, we appreciate their efforts. It is always good when there are initiatives and platforms where things like this are done to make people come together towards the betterment of the people of Ogun State and as a proud indigene of Abeokuta I’m very glad to be part of the cause.”
