NDIC Commences Payment To Depositors Of Defunct Banks
The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) will commence the verification and payment of eligible shareholders and insured depositors of Alpha Merchant Bank including the three Micro Finance Banks and Primary Mortgage Banks recently closed by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
According to the official twitter handle of the corporation, the process of paying the insured depositors of the banks will begin on Monday, 3rd February, 2020.
“The NDIC, the official liquidator of the listed banks whose licences were recently revoked is in the process of paying insured depositors.
“We therefore advise that all depositors of these banks should visit the closed banks’ addresses and meet with NDIC officials for the verification of their claims, commencing from Monday Feb., 3 till Friday, Feb. 7.’’
Also the corporation has called on the shareholders of the defunct Alpha Merchant Bank to come forward for verification and payment of their fourth liquidation dividend of four naira per share unit.
As contained in a release issued by NDIC, the payment will commence on Monday February 3, 2020 at NDIC Lagos office, 15A Marina, Lagos, NDIC office, Abuja or other NDIC offices nationwide.
