Full List of Winners in 2026 NBA National Elections
Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, has emerged as the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association following the conclusion of the association’s 2026 national elections.
The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association announced the results at the NBA National Secretariat in Abuja after the completion of the electronic voting exercise.
Badejo-Okusanya secured 12,317 votes, representing 47.18 per cent of the ballots cast in the presidential contest. She defeated Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN, who received 7,934 votes, and Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, who polled 5,855 votes.
Her victory makes her the second woman to lead the NBA after Priscilla Kuye, who served as president of the association from 1991 to 1992. Badejo-Okusanya is expected to serve a two-year tenure from 2026 to 2028.
According to the election results, 26,184 out of the 82,172 registered lawyers participated in the poll, representing a voter turnout of 31.86 per cent.

Second Vice-President: Egya Nuhu John — 18,496 votes, elected unopposed
Third Vice-President: Pepple Iniobong Irene — 19,200 votes, elected unopposed
General Secretary: Afam O. Okeke — 8,478 votes
Assistant General Secretary: Aghogho Gladys Okpomor — 14,312 votes
Treasurer: Esther Ifeoma Jimoh — 21,908 votes, elected unopposed
Welfare Secretary: Audrey Chinelo Ofoegbunam — 14,911 votes
Publicity Secretary: Dr Prince I. Azubuike — 14,686 votes
Assistant Publicity Secretary: Hadiza Nasir Ahmad — 10,094 votes
Eastern Zone Representative: Chidi Betsy Nnaji — 10,497 votes
Western Zone Representative: Rotimi Komolafe — 14,816 votes
Northern Zone Representative: Huwaila Muhammad Ibrahim — 13,327 votes.
The newly elected officers are expected to take over the leadership of the association from outgoing NBA President Afam Osigwe and his executive members.
The incoming administration will be tasked with addressing concerns affecting Nigerian lawyers, strengthening the association’s internal democratic process and promoting the rule of law, professional welfare and judicial independence.
