The Okitipupa Government Field came alive with energy and celebration as the Aduro Foundation successfully hosted the grand finale of its maiden Soccer League Championship, a landmark event that showcased raw football talent and strengthened community bonds across Ondo State’s Southern Senatorial District.
The championship, which drew participation from four local governments, was more than just a tournament — it was a symbol of unity, youth empowerment, and collective progress.
The final clash saw Agbo Boys of Ilaje Local Government face off against Layelu FC of Okitipupa, in a gripping encounter that had fans on edge until the final whistle. In the end, Agbo Boys triumphed, clinching the historic title and bringing pride to Ilaje Local Government.
The grand finale attracted eminent personalities including Hon. Andrew Ogunsakin, Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government; HRM Oba Michael Adetoye Obatuga, the Jegun of Idepe Kingdom; and Captain Aliyu Usman, Commanding Officer of the Igbokoda FOB Naval Base, among others. Their presence highlighted the championship’s role as a rallying point for regional unity.
“This competition is more than football,” said Dr. Tony Aduro, Founder of Aduro Foundation. “It’s a celebration of community, a platform for emerging talents, and proof that when we come together with purpose, everybody wins.”
Since its establishment in 2021, the Aduro Foundation has championed transformative initiatives in healthcare, clean water, youth empowerment, agriculture, and sustainable development.
