Dumping APC does not stop me from being progressive, Wolekanle replies critics
A renown philanthropist and bonafide son of Ogbmosho, Hon. Akinwale Akinwole has finally replied those criticising his decision to leave the All Progressives Congress to the People’s Democratic Party in Oyo state.
Akinwole popularly knowns as ‘Wolekanle’ maintained that dumping the APC for PDP does not stop him from being a progressive.
His reactions coming days after some stakeholders in APC in the state condemned his action to leave the party for PDP as a show of not being progressive.
But, Akinwole in a statement by its personal Secretary, Akin Alade noted that he remain a progressive person who is concerned about the welfare of the people in Ogbomosho and Oyo in general.
Akin Alade in the statement argued that being progressive does not have any ideology to do with political affiliation, but impact such person has been able to make on the people’s life and the development of his community at large.
The personality Secretary of Wolekanle described him as a man of complete moral rectitude, quintessential gentleman and unsparing giver who believed in assisting those in needs.
He further stressed that Akinwole has touched many lives very positively in the Ogbomoso and its environs.
He added, “some of them who claimed to be progressive have not done anything impactful to enhance the standard of life of the Ogbomoso people.
“We know how they were given an opportunity to represent Ogbomoso at the national level, but nobody from the town benefited from them inspite of the humongous largesse they benefited from the federation government as a representative of their constituencies
“They even betrayed the fingers that fed them, we know how they defaced their bosses, how can such people that doesn’t have any impactful effect within their community be saying someone is not progressive because the person left their party for a better one.
“Hon. Akinwole has been a progressive person who believe in the ideology of Pa.Awolowo, he has impacted in no small measure to the enhancement of his People’s lives and he has proved to be a true progressive person and a good democrat. His impact cut across all political affiliations and all he does is for the benefit of the people and not like them that are there to feather their own nests at the detriment of their people who voted them into power.
“Akinwole Akinwale has the right to associate with any political party he feels can give him opportunity in fulfilling his mandate and to execute people’s oriented manifesto he has in his kitty. Asking why they are embittered that Hon. Akinwole left APC for good ?.
“He has been sidelined, maligned enough in the so call progressive and nothing because he is a man that listens to his people, he decided to defect to the PDP for a better party that will help to fulfill his mandate. “
