PFIPC Scandal: Adeyemi Alleges Threat to Life, Seeks Independent Probe by Tinubu
Adeniyi Adeyemi, the promoter linked to the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has alleged that his life is under threat and appealed to President Bola Tinubu to constitute an independent panel to investigate the controversy surrounding the organisation.
Adeyemi made the appeal while responding to the ongoing investigations into the PFIPC scandal, insisting that only an impartial inquiry would uncover the truth behind the allegations and restore public confidence in the process.
He claimed that he had received threats to his life since the controversy became public, expressing concern over his safety and urging the Federal Government to guarantee his protection while investigations continue.
According to Adeyemi, the proposed investigative panel should comprise independent and credible individuals capable of conducting a transparent review of the allegations surrounding the PFIPC and the circumstances that led to the current legal proceedings.
The PFIPC has remained at the centre of national attention following allegations that it operated without legal backing and used forged government documents. Authorities have also accused those behind the organisation of impersonation and other offences, leading to criminal charges before a Federal High Court.
The Presidency has distanced itself from the organisation, maintaining that the PFIPC is not a recognised government agency and vowing to identify and prosecute anyone found to have participated in the alleged scheme.
Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies have continued investigations into the matter, while the case remains before the court. Adeyemi has maintained his innocence, insisting that an independent probe would provide an opportunity for all parties to present evidence and clarify the issues surrounding the scandal.
The PFIPC controversy has continued to generate widespread public debate over accountability, due process and the need for stronger safeguards against the creation of fraudulent government institutions.
