Shettima Visits Maiduguri Blast Victims, Pledges Stronger Security Response
Vice President Kashim Shettima has visited victims of the recent bomb attacks in Maiduguri, expressing sympathy and reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening security across the country.
During the visit, the Vice President met with injured victims receiving treatment and conveyed the condolences of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the federal government. He described the attacks as tragic and unjustified, stressing the need for a stronger and more coordinated security response.
Shettima assured that security agencies have been directed to intensify operations and improve intelligence gathering to prevent future incidents. He reiterated that the government remains committed to protecting lives and restoring lasting peace, especially in the North-East region.
He also commended the efforts of state authorities and security operatives working to contain the situation, urging continued collaboration to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
The Vice President further encouraged residents to remain resilient, assuring them that the government is taking decisive steps to enhance safety and prevent a recurrence of such attacks.
