Crisis hit Fed. Poly, Ado Ekiti as EFCC detains workers over alleged mis-appropriation of IGR

The ongoing crisis rocking the Federal
Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti show no sign of abating with the workers demanding a probe of the financial records of the institution as well as calling on the economic financial crime commission EFCC and it sister Agency Independent Corrupt Practices Commisson, ICPC to stop the harassment of innocent staffs of the institution.
Recently, it was reported that a panel of enquiry was set to look into the management of the institution’s internally generated revenue among other financial issues disrupting the peace of the school.
Information at our disposal is that EFCC and ICPC are at work in Federal Polytechnic which may be a good news to the party concerned adding that both anti-graft agencies have called for some documents from the Management in respect of how they spent the Institution IGR for the past 4 years and issue of promotion arrears for 2018 and 2019.
The disturbing aspect is that EFCC in Ilorin and ICPC in Akure have started inviting members of staff to their offices for interrogations, while some were even detained for days.
The fear on campus now is that invitation could be extended to anybody since they are doing it in batches.
What came as surprise to many is that the Principal actors who are responsible for the management of the internally generated revenue in the school are being kept out of the investigation and those that compiled the names of innocent staff for promotion arrears are moving freely, a development that continue to unsettle many.
Concerned Members of the institution are now calling on the agencies to be free, fair and just in their investigations and stop harassing innocent people working in the school.
