Thunder Kills 3 FRSC Officials In Ogun
A mysterious lightening thunder on Wednesday struck dead three officials of the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ilese axis of Ijebu Ode area of the State.
The officials were allegedly struck to adeath at their office located at the old Ilese Tollgate in the Ijebu North-East Local Government Area of the State.
It was gathered that, the incident occurred around 10am when the affected FRSC officials were planning for the early morning parade.
Report further gathered that, there were over 10 officials at the scene of the incident, when the thunder lightening struck which took the lives of three of their colleagues.
Meanwhile, the public education officer of the state sector command, Florence Okpe confirmed the incident, disclosing that the cause of the death of the officers had yet to be ascertained.
She said, “So we were informed. But, my sector commander has just gone there to find out what really happened.
“I cannot give any report until when he comes back to give us what really happened. The sector commander is there.
“When he comes back he will tell us what really went wrong. I can’t just start talking because we do not really know what happened, whether it was a thunderstorm or whatever, until he comes.”
”As at the time of filling this report, men of the state’s special security outfit code named “OP MESA” had taken over security of the entire area, chasing onlookers away and preventing journalists from taking pictures.
Also the Sango adherents have joined other FRSC officials at the scene of the incident in Ilese Ijebu in a bid to perform some traditional rites on the corpses before they are released to government officials for burial.
