2023:APBN OGUN SETS TO ENGAGE POLITICAL PARTIES CANDIDATES ON ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION


The Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN), Ogun state Chapter is organizing professional roundtable political discussion for all Gubernatorial and National Assembly Candidates of all political parties in Ogun State.
This is In line with the objective of the association to transmit the aggregate views of professionals on matters of public interest to intending political leaders.
In a statement signed by the Chairman, APBN professional roundtable political discussion committee, Engr. Olumayowa Idowu, FNIEE, the event will hold on Tuesday 7th February, 2023 at St. Mathias Hall, Crowther Graduate Theological Seminary, Isale Igbein, Abeokuta by 2pm.
Engineer Olumayowa in the statement added that the event is planned to be transmitted on some partner Radio and Television Stations.
“The event is intended to give various party candidates opportunities to discuss their agenda for the State as it relates to the Professionals. As Professional bodies, we strongly believe the upcoming election should be an honest contest of developmental ideas for the State and Country at large. APBN desire to know where Professionals stand on the issues impacting our dear state”, Idowu said.
The Party candidates that are expected at the event includes candidates of African Democratic Congress (ADC), All Progressives Congress (APC), Allied People’s Movement (APM), Labour Party (LP), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Social Democratic Party (SDP) and The New Nigeria’s People Party (NNPP).
The Committee Chairman emphasized that the event is not a political rally, Hence party supporters/fans will therefore not be expected to be present at the secured venue of the programme.
The Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN) Ogun is a non – profit organization comprising of twenty – nine professional bodies, whose main objective is to provide Nigeria with an effective forum for transmitting to government, the aggregate views of the nation’s professionals on matters of public interest which they are competent to express informed and enlightened views.
APBN was given official Federal Government recognition as the third leg of the organised private sector (OPS) in January, 1992.
