The Cause Of Ajimobi’s Death Finally Exposed
Hours after death of Oyo State former Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, was confirmed by the family, Lagos State Government has disclosed that the deceased died from multiple organs failure.
It explained that the multiple organs failure was due to complications suffered by the immediate past Oyo governor after contracting coronavirus infection in the country.
The former Governor died from multiple organs failure following complications from COVID19 infection.
On behalf of COVID19Lagos Incident Commander @jidesanwoolu and the entire COVID19Lagos response team, we convey our heartfelt condolences to the family of the former Governor and the people of Oyo state”.
Ajimobi was the governor of Oyo State between 2011 and 2019 – he goes into history as the only person who has served two terms as Oyo State governor. Before winning the governorship election, Ajimobi was a senator from 2003 to 2007.
Ajimobi’s death came a week after he was rumoured to have died at a private hospital in Lagos. That rumour turned to be false as both his daughter Fatima Ganduje-Ajimobi and media aide Bolaji Tunji denied it.
He was first hospitalised in early June after contracting the deadly virus.
Ajimobi emerged deputy national chairman of the ruling All Progrssives Congress in the south-west in March.
When an appeal court in Abuja upheld the suspension of Adams Oshiomhole as national chairman, Ajimobi was appointed in acting capacity.
Due to his absence, Hillard Eta, vice chairman (south-south) was asked to stand in for Ajimobi.
The party’s NWC has been dissolved while a caretaker committee has taken over.
He was survived by his wife and children.
