In a scathing critique of the current political climate, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has voiced his strong opposition to the coalition being formed by prominent Nigerian politicians, including Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai, and Aminu Tambuwal. Ayodele believes the coalition is fundamentally flawed, stating that none of these politicians can offer the solutions needed to move Nigeria forward.
In a statement released by his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele bluntly asserted that supporting figures like Atiku, Peter Obi, and El-Rufai would lead the country to further stagnation, with the potential for Atiku to push Nigeria into a state of ruin and El-Rufai’s leadership leading to the country’s downfall. He went so far as to suggest that allowing President Bola Tinubu to continue in office is the best option, as he believes that Tinubu is the only one capable of addressing Nigeria’s dire situation.
Ayodele’s remarks were unequivocal: “Voting for Obi will make Nigeria stagnant, Atiku will take Nigeria to the mortuary, and when you give it to El-Rufai, Nigeria will just be buried.”
Further commenting on the internal struggles within the opposition, Ayodele predicted that several PDP governors, including those from key states such as Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Oyo, Osun, and Anambra, are likely to defect to the ruling APC ahead of the 2027 elections. He claimed that the PDP is increasingly unraveling, with many governors no longer loyal to the party, thus weakening its chances in the upcoming general elections. According to Ayodele, the PDP Governors’ Forum has become irrelevant, with many now aligning with the APC.
The prophet also issued a warning to President Tinubu, advising him not to become complacent ahead of his re-election bid. He hinted that the president’s chances of securing a second term would be at risk if three key figures were allowed to contest in the 2027 elections, suggesting that their involvement in the opposition coalition could be detrimental to Tinubu’s prospects.
Primate Ayodele offered three critical actions for President Tinubu to take before the elections, stressing that these steps would be pivotal to ensuring his victory. According to Ayodele, Tinubu’s re-election will depend on his ability to address these issues and prevent the three influential political figures from joining the opposition.
