Chief Sunday Oyebefun Celebrates 50th Birthday, Coronation Ceremony In Grand Style

ABEOKUTA – It was a day of joy and celebration as Chief Sunday Oyebefun, the Gbadegeshin of Iporo land, and Ekerin of Kemta Oloko in Egbaland, marked his 50th birthday in grand style alongside his chieftaincy title ceremony.
The event, held in Isale Igbein in attendance traditional rulers, community leaders, government officials, and well-wishers from far and near who came to honour Chief Oyebefun.
In his remarks, Chief Oyebefun expressed deep gratitude for the honour bestowed upon him and pledged his unwavering commitment to the development and peace of his community.
“What is expected of me with this new title is to ensure that my community continues to develop at all times, to make sure that everybody is fine, and to bring peace to the community,” he said.
The newly installed chief also emphasized the critical role traditional institutions play in grassroots development, urging the government to work more closely with community leaders.
“The government should always consult traditional institutions for the development of our communities because we are the ones closest to the people. We know what the people want,” he added.
