Three years to another election year in Nigeria, politicians known for their game have started their political calculation.
This time, all eyes are set on the goal, the 2023 Presidential Election. The stake is big and the big wigs are ready to give their all to get to Aso Villa, the seat of power.
One man that is giving everyone, especially the cabal the run for their money is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to a reliable source within the Tinubu’s camp, with the death of President Mohammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff (CoS), Abba Kyari, who is rumoured to be a key member of the cabal, the coast is appearing to be clear for Tinubu, the Jagaban Bogul of Africa.
Since the APC won the Presidential election in 2015, the canal had been doing all within their power to decapitate Tinubu. They have done their best to render Tinubu powerless politically.
Ahead of the 2023 game, the cabal, the source said are having serious sleepless nights on how to crush Tinubu. “He has become their major source of worry even now that Kyari is gone.”
But no matter what they do to the two time Governor of Lagos State, he keeps rising politically, growing stronger and stronger by the day.
The source, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, said there are serious underground work by the cabal and they are using all their contacts in the North to ensure that Tinubu doesn’t get the party’s ticket come 2023.
According to him, the cabal are not comfortable with Tinubu flying the party’s flag, “they (cabal) believe that Tinubu has his own personal agenda and if he is elected the President, he will deal with them ruthlessly.”
Besides, the source reliably told Nigeriastandardng that the cabal believe strongly that Tinubu will be uncontrollable and he cannot be trusted with power, they are scared of the influence he has in the SouthWest, SouthEast and some parts of the North.
“Since 2015, the cabal has been trying to cut Tinubu to size, they have been trying to reduce his political influence in the country. They launched the attack to reduce Tinubu’s political clout in the SouthWest. Senator Ibikunle Amosun, the immediate past Governor of Ogun State is leading the likes of Governor Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo) and others are spearheading the attacks in the SouthWest.”
“But these people attacking Tinubu don’t know is that they are digging their own grave politically. Tinubu will always triumph. He is beyond whatever anybody is planning against him.
Remember the Bukola Saraki gang up against him in 2015, did he not win at the end of the day? Where is Saraki and the likes now? Tinubu is not just a big fish but a political juggernaut,” the source said.
Another source who spoke to Nigeriastandardng said, a big surprise is awaiting the cabal ahead of 2023. Tinubu, he said “will give them the shocker of their lives”.
“Whether he (Tinubu) decides to contest the Presidential seat or not, be rest assured that he will come out a winner. The cabal are the losers in all this.”
“I think this is why they (cabal) are envious of him. The truth is that they know how he (Tinubu) will come out at them. And this is making them to be really worried. They have tried all they could to bring him down, but this man has refused to be defeated.”
